WORCESTER___Anna (Maleskas) Leseman, 103, died at her home in Worcester on October 22. She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-four years, William Leseman, and her son George Leseman. She is survived by many nieces and nephews, other extended family, and her sister-in-law Louise Nelson. She was predeceased by her siblings Vincent, Sophia, Antoinette, and Alphonse Maleskas, Angela Roy, Eva Arrell, and Catherine Sullivan.
Anna was born in Worcester to Alexander and Catherine (Sakalauskas) Maleskas. She graduated from the former Commerce High School. She was very proud of her Lithuanian heritage. She was a member of the former St. Casimir Church and Choir, and more recently a member of St. John’s Church, serving as a cantor and psalmist at the Lithuanian Masses. She also sang with the Schola Gregoriana. Anna was a member of the Lithuanian Charitable Society-Maironis Park and was a 4th Degree Knight and Past President of the Knights of Lithuania Council 26. She was proud of her service during World War II, working for the US Army at Fort Devens as a truck driver and mail clerk.
The family is grateful to the Mulcahy Family for their recent support and kindness to Anna.
Calling hours are Wednesday October 30, 2019, 9:30 to 11:00 AM, at the DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., Worcester. Funeral Mass is at 11:30 AM at St. John’s Church, 40 Temple St., Worcester, with burial to follow at St. John’s Cemetery.
