Mrs. Linda Fletcher Bruce, 87, of Savannah passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at a healthcare facility in Rome. A memorial service for Mrs. Bruce will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with her son, Charles Bruce Jr. delivering the eulogy. Mrs. Bruce will be laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service.
Born March 27, 1932 in Chula, she was the daughter of the late Julian Fletcher and Lucy Sumner Fletcher. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Maxwell Bruce, Sr.; and four brothers, Buddy Fletcher, Virgil Fletcher, Jack Fletcher and Gerald Fletcher. Mrs. Bruce was a graduate of Tift County High School and was a loving homemaker. She was a member of Silk Hope Baptist Church in Savannah.
Mrs. Bruce is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles Jr. and Kathy Bruce of Birmingham, Alabama; two daughters and one son-in-law, Lynn and Phillip Ball of Silver Creek and Teresa Bruce of Rincon; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Adam Burns and Melissa and Charles Snyder, all of Birmingham, Alabama, Hannah and Jake Darling of Guyton, Cameron and Austyn Ball, Dakota Ball and Elijah Ball all of Silver Creek and Marshall Sellars of Rincon; four great-grandchildren; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Gene Slack of Tifton; special caregiver, Jill Green-Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial gifts may be made in honor of the Ruth Sunday School Class at Silk Hope Baptist Church, 4929 Pineland Drive, Savannah, GA 31405.
