Thuong X. Ly, 83, of Worcester died Sunday, October 20th at home surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 60 years, Nga Tran; his children, Thong Ly, Thuy Ly, Thao Ly, and Thai Ly all of Worcester; a brother, Thu Ly of Worcester; a sister, Lan Ly of California; six siblings in Vietnam; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was born in Can Tho, Vietnam and immigrated in 1978 to Worcester. Thuong worked as a technician at Digital for 15 years, retiring in 1999. While in Vietnam, Thuong was a Major in the South Vietnam Military for over 20 years.
Mr. Ly enjoyed watching the news especially about politics. He enjoyed spending time in his flower and vegetable gardens that were methodically planned. Thuong also enjoyed his fish and decorating inside his home. He was a handyman who relished fixing anything he could.
Funeral services and visitation are private. Cremation will be in Rural Crematory. Please omit flowers and monetary donations.
