Alvin Virgil Hale, 63, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 26, 2019, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Melvin Autry and Joe Simpson officiating. Charles Connell will offer a eulogy. Mr. Hale will be laid to rest at New River Holiness Church in Berrien County. The family will receive friends Friday, October 25, 2019, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Dion Hale, Clay Connell, Adam Hale, Robert Hale, Hunter Shaw, Keith Belk and Thomas Bennett will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Laura Hale Moore and Heather Hale Bennett.
Born August 26, 1956 in Tifton, Mr. Hale was the son of the late Hugh Terry Hale and Rachel McGhee Hale. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Terry Hale and Bruce Hale; and one sister-in-law, Faye Hale. He graduated from Tift County High School and worked at Tifton Textiles and Chas Cabinets. He was an avid bottle collector, antique collector and he loved to hunt and fish.
Mr. Hale is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rhonda Harper Hale of Tifton; one son, Andrew Hale of Athens; one sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Charles Connell of Tifton; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry and Darlene Hale and Calvin Hale, all of Tifton ; two sisters-in-law, Glenda Morgan Hale and Patti Rogers Hale; two brothers-in-law and their wives, James and Deborah Shaw and Maggie and Franco Ortiz; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Margaret Harper; many nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
