Michael E. Contillo, 92, died Monday, October 21, 2019. He was the husband of the late Lida M. (Richards) Contillo. They had been married for fifty-seven years before her passing in 2009.
Born in Johnston, he was a son of Michael and Angelina (Falco) Contillo. Michael served in the Army during WWII and served in the US Army Reserves during the Korean War. He had been an owner of an Italian Supermarket on Federal Hill in Providence before retiring. Michael was also an accomplished landscape artist.
He is survived by his many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his siblings, the late Carol Salzillo, Leonard Contillo, Pauline Bianchi and Gabriel Contillo. He leaves his cousins Norma Latour of Johnston and Hazel M. O’Rourke of Saunderstown.
Funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Johnston. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Saturday.
