Harry F. Hewins, 79, of Bridgewater, Massachusetts died on October 20th at Good Samaritan Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Brockton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Harry I. Hewins and Elizabeth (Reardon) Hewins.
He attended East Bridgewater High School and graduated from Stonehill College. He was employed by the Plymouth Home National Bank and was a senior manager in the East Bridgewater branch for many years before his retirement.
When in good health, Harry was an active member of the community and enjoyed singing in the church choir and teaching Christian Doctrine at St. Johns Church. But most of all, Harry loved spending time with his friends and family.
Harry was the loving brother of Michael L. Hewins and his wife Letitia of East Bridgewater. He was the beloved uncle of Kimberly Shattuck and her husband Bill of Bridgewater, Rachael Silvia and her husband Randy of East Bridgewater and Jacob Hewins and his wife Stephanie of Middleboro. Harry cherished his time spent with his great-nieces and nephews Joshua Crawford, Matthew Shattuck, Sarah Silvia, Lucas Silvia, Violet Silvia, Ainsley Hewins and Amelia Hewins.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday, October 26th at 10:00AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary) Whitman, followed by a funeral mass at 11:00 AM in the St. Johns Church in East Bridgewater. Burial will follow in the Central Cemetery, East Bridgewater. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 25th at from 5-8 PM.
