Floyd E. Chastain, Sr., 90, of Greenfield, died October 17, 2019 at Brownsburg Health Care Center from Alzheimer's.
He was born December 12, 1928 in Lawrence County the son of James R. and Stella (Thomas) Chastain.
He retired from civil service in the United States Army National Guard after 44 years of service.
Floyd was a member of Meadowbrook Church of Christ. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his three children, Floyd "Butch" (Norine) Chastain, Jr. of Indianapolis, Marguerita Hamilton of Greenfield and Robert A. Chastain of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Donald E. Chastain, Sean P. (Marni) Hamilton; Tracey K. (Christopher) Commander and Misty Chastain; three great grandchildren, Kaitlyn E. Crow, Brendon Sanders and Kiera Chastain; two great-great grandsons, Ricky Crow and Danny Crow and several nieces and nephews.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Vivian "Vicky" Chastain, son, Donald G. Chastain, son-in-law, Pat O. Hamilton, grandson, Garrett Chastain, a brother and two sisters.
Service will be 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Jim Harrison officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery with Military rites.
Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
