Elsa V. (Hallgren) Johnson age 85 of Salem, NH, died Saturday at the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH.
She was born in Dorchester, MA, grew up her first few years in Hallevik, Sweden and then grew up in, and was educated in Arlington, MA. She was a resident of Salem for the past 22 years, formerly of Lexington, MA.
Mrs. Johnson was a retired secretary for Olston Agency in Lexington, MA. She typed the entire manuscript for a collegiate technical text book named Electrical Wiring Design and Construction, published by Prentice-Hall, that was written by her husband Robert. She was an active member of the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church in Salem, NH, where she was active with Stephen’s Minister. She was also a member of the Trinity Covenant Church in Lexington, MA. She was an active member and past board member of the Christian Women’s Group in Salem, NH. and a member of the Salem Women’s Club. Mrs. Johnson enjoyed crafts, genealogy, reading, swimming, and her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her Husband Robert Johnson
She is survived by 1 Daughter: Linda & her Husband Salvatore Mele of Salem, NH
2 Sons: Robert & his Wife Cecilia Johnson of Seattle, WA
Stephen Johnson of Lexington, MA
5 Grandchildren: Kimberlee Riggs of Washington, Paul Johnson of Washington, Karen Lukeman of NH, Victoria Hopkins of NY, and Sarah Mele of NH

Calling hours will be held Tuesday, Jan. 24, from 6-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 11 AM at the Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church 171 Zion Hill Rd, Salem, NH.
