Salem: Albertha F. (Dion) Claveau Jalbert age 89 died Thursday at the Country Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Newburyport, following a brief illness.
Born and raised in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Valentine (Boudreau) Dion. A life long resident of this city, she was at one time employed by the former C.B.S. Hytron of Salem and for nearly 40 years worked for the former Parker Brothers Co. of Salem. Mrs. Jalbert retired in 1984. First widowed in 1948, she was the wife of the late Raymond Claveau. As a single parent, she was a devoted mother and provider for her family. She was also the former wife of the late Harry Jalbert.
Mrs. Jalbert is survived by a son: Ronald W. Claveau and his wife Susan of Salisbury, a daughter: Rita Sangster of Cottonwood, AZ, 2 brothers: Hector Dion of Las Vegas, George Dion of Peabody and New York, a sister: Loretta Burns of California 3 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 2 sisters: Rita Morneau & Lorraine Dion and 2 brothers: Simon Dion & Adhemard “Eddie” Dion.
