Obituary

STEEP FALLS- Patricia B. Kiely of Steep Falls, ME died peacefully in her home surrounded by her family and beloved cats on October 16th, 2019. Pat was born on December 31st, 1928 on Prince Rupert Island, Canada. As a child she lived on Prince Rupert Island as well as in the San Francisco Bay area of California, before she eventually moved to Larchmont, NY. She graduated from Mamaroneck High School in 1947. She worked many years for the town of Mamaroneck as the court clerk. She settled in Steep Falls, Maine after retiring in 1994.
Pat was an avid NY Mets fan and rarely missed a televised tennis match. She enjoyed baking for her family, friends, and the various local benefit suppers. Her signature desserts include her banana cream pie, chocolate pie, Triple C Cake, and cheesecake. In addition to loving her family, friends, and animals, she also loved Tony Bennett, her gardens, the wild birds, and relaxing on her back deck with a good libation. Her laughter was infectious and though she was Canadian born, she was one of the proudest Americans you could every meet. She was especially proud to be a mother and grandmother to four United States Marines.
Pat is survived by her children; her son John Kiely and his wife Joyce Leslie of Peaks Island, ME; her daughter Linda Grinnell and her husband Gregory of Bridgton, ME; her son Tobin Kiely of Georgetown, TX; and her son James Kiely and his wife Patty of Patterson, NY. She also leaves behind her many grandchildren; Sarah, Sean, Julie, Thomas, Edward, Kerry, Nicholas, and Gregory as well as three great-grandchildren; Raelyn, Thomas Jr., and Kimberly. She is also survived by her dear friend, Ellen Walker. She leaves behind many more beloved friends in her Steep Falls and East Baldwin Congregational Church communities.
Pat is preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Willamina Brocklesby; her twin brother Kenneth Brocklesby; her son-in-law Edward Quasnitschka; and her grandson, Andrew Quasnitschka.
A celebration of life will be held at the East Baldwin Congregational Church on Saturday November 2nd, 2019 at 11 AM.
