Funeral services for Syble Tucker Barfield, 78, of Ashburn, GA will be held at 4:00 PM, Thursday, October 17, at Perry Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Barfield passed away Tuesday in Augusta, GA following a brief illness. Interment will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery.
The daughter of the late George Lathern and Irene Ely Tucker, she was born in Rome, GA and was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Tift County, GA. She was owner of Barfield and Tucker Used Cars. She loved to travel and loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandhildren.
In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her husband, Donnie Larry Barfield, Sr. and her siblings, Mary Daniel, Stella Morgan and Hugh Tucker and a great grandchild, Crews Jason Allison.
Survivors include her children, Donnie Larry (Janie) Barfield, Jr. of Virginia; Peggy Sue B. Griffin of Tifton and Pam (Gary) Kohler of Orange, CA.; a brother, George Tucker of Moultrie, GA.; her long time companion, Traynor Hurst; her grandchildren, Samantha (Jamie) Allison and Jason (Lisa) Griffin and her great grandchildren, Austin Allison, Laney Griffin and Lucas Allison.
The family will receive friends at Perry Funeral Chapel from 3:00 PM until the hour of service on Thursday.
