Matthew J. Souza, 33 of Fairhaven died October 12, 2019 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born and raised in New Bedford, son of William Souza, Jr. and Lisa M. (Hitchings) Souza, he lived in Fairhaven most of his life.
He was employed by Bradford Steel in East Freetown for many years.
Matthew enjoyed spending time with his daughter, attending car shows, model cars, tattoos, and his sneaker collection. He played youth football and hockey.
Survivors include his parents; his daughter, Gemma Souza and her mother Samantha Pimental of Acushnet; a brother, Kyle Souza of Fairhaven; 2 nephews, Ethan and Kasen; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was the grandson of the late Brendan and Kathleen (Hitchings) Martin and William and Mary Ann (Souza) Souza.
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, October 18th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, October 17th from 4-8 PM.
