Devote wife, mother, and sister
BILLERICA: Carol Ann (DiPietrantonio) Sbaschnig, R.N.,M.S.N, age 65, a resident of Billerica, for over 40 years, passed away at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington on Sunday, October 13, 2019.
She was the beloved wife of Robert L. Sbaschnig, with whom she celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on September 4, 2019.
Born in Boston on August 14, 1954, she was the daughter of the late Charles J. DiPietrantonio and the late Adele M. (Thibodeau)(DiPietrantonio) Azzolino.
Carol was raised in Burlington, attended Burlington schools and graduated from Burlington High School.
She later attended the University of Fitchburg, where she received her Master’s Degree in Nursing Science.
Prior to her retirement in August of this year, she was employed as a Nurse at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial V.A. Hospital in Bedford, where she worked for 41 years serving veterans.
Carol enjoyed traveling to Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun Resort & Casinos, and trips to Las Vegas.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Kimberly A. Sbaschnig of Billerica; her brother, Charles J. DiPietrantonio, Jr. and his wife Maria of Bradenton, FL; her brother-in-law, Ming Chow of Westford; also several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Carol was the sister of the late Judith Chow and Joseph DiPietrantonio.
Calling hours are Thursday, October 17, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral procession will begin on Friday, October 18 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by her graveside service at 11 a.m. at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East Street, Tewksbury. In lieu of flowers, donations in Carol’s memory may be made to the Tewksbury D.A.V. Post # 110, 180 Pond Street, Tewksbury, MA 01876.
