Marion T. Bashner (Tratenberg), 91, of Canton, Massachusetts passed away on October 10, 2019 at the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Canton.
Marion grew up in Dorchester, and was a long time resident of Canton. She was well known over the years as a professional musician and trumpet player, as well as owning her own orchestra, the Marian Baker Orchestra.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Bashner, her daughter, Pamela C. Violette, and her brother, George Tratenberg.
She is survived by her children, Melissa J. Saia and Daniel S. Bashner of Easton, Ma, and Brad L. Bashner of Brockton, Ma. She was the loving grandmother of Matthew H. Violette and Nicholas M. Violette of Van Buren, Me, Hannah K. Bashner of Revere, Ma, and Katie L. Bashner of Orange, Ma. She is also survived by her sister Beatrice G. Bakken of Plymouth, Ma, and her brother Sidney Tratenberg of Westwood, Ma, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be private.
A celebration of life will be held at her former residence, Canton Village on Will Dr. on Sunday October 20, 2019. Friends and family are invited to attend.
