Raymond "Ray" Haywood, 85 formerly of Chelsea passed away on October 11,
2019 surrounded by his family after a brief illness at Clinton Hospital.
Raymond was the beloved husband of Marie (Harkins) Haywood of Leominster for
37 years. He was the loving father to Diane McKinney of Cambridge,MA ,
Doreen Wilson and her husband Thomas of Cambridge, MA, Steven Haywood and
his wife Pamela of Randolph,MA, Daniel Haywood and his wife Teresa of
Stoughton, MA, and Nicole Cohen and her husband Victor of Randolph, MA. He
was the loving stepfather to Alan Perella of Leominster, MA and Lisa Perella
of Greenville, NH. Raymond is survived by many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren.
Raymond enjoyed spending his time with wife and grandchildren. He always had
a random joke and a way to make you laugh. He was an avid Red Sox and
Patriots fan, you could find him wearing his baseball cap supporting his
team's with his pins. He loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and usually solved
the puzzle before anyone else could. Raymond always expressed his happiest
moments were at the beach, whether he listened to his radio or teaching his
grandchildren to swim. He was loving, funny, and a social butterfly with
always a story to tell. He loved caring for his cats Lucky and Trixie as
well spending time with grand-dogs Molly and Rocky.
Per Raymond's request, he requested cremation with no services. In lieu of
the flowers, the family would ask donations be made to Alzheimer's
Association in his memory.
