Thelma "Kay" (Givens) Ryan, 80, Anderson, died October 7, 2019 at her residence.
Kay was born December 3, 1938, in Madison County, the daughter of Roy L. and Edith (Stottlemyer) Givens. She graduated Walnut Grove High School in 1957.
She worked at Warner Press and later at Best Lock for 20 years before retiring in 2000.
Kay was a member of the former Beall's Chapel, where she was song leader. She always enjoyed singing at church with her cousin, Betty J. Funkhouser. She was the secretary of the bowling league at Cooper's Sport Bowl. She loved music and played a variety of instruments. She also enjoyed bowling, baseball and playing cards. Kay was passionate about spending time with family and friends.
Kay is survived by her husband, Donald G. Ryan of Anderson, whom she married June 6, 1964; two daughters, Lynn Clymer and Lisa (Jason) Winters; brother, Bill (Janene) Givens; sister-in-law, Beverly Givens; two granddaughters, Brittni (Colt) Carpenter and Shelby (Brian) Collins; grandson, Darian Winters; five great grandchildren, Marley, Aubrey, Wesley, Aksel and Elzie; several nieces and nephews.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy E. "Gene" Givens; sister, Beverly Vandevender.
Service will be 11 a.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will be at Forrestville Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
