Lydia R. Ramirez, 77, a resident of Ventura for 70 years, passed away on October 3, 2019 in Tacoma, Washington. Lydia was born in Gilbert, Arizona to Jose and Crespina Ramirez on August 3, 1942. She enjoyed cooking, camping, going to casinos, having family BBQs, taking trips via the train, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Lydia is survived by her Daughters: Cindy Bayamon and son-in-law Anthony, Debbie Ochoa and son-in-law Salvador; Leslie Baskett and daughter-in-law Beth, and Marie Contreras; Sons: Joseph Contreras and daughter-in-law Connie, Jim Contreras and daughter-in-law Lilly, Manuel Contreras and daughter-in-law Gina; 14 Grandchildren and 10 Great grandchildren: Sisters: Jenny Garcia, Raquel Ramirez, and Gloria Ramirez and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents Jose and Crespina Ramirez and siblings: Benny, Tonia, Molly, Joe, Richard, Manuel, Frances, and Lisa.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Tacoma, WA Hospital ICU staff, Compassionate Care staff, and Registered Nurses Gabby & Claire for their understanding and care for their mother while in ICU. A special 'Thank You' to Pastor Fernie Franco and the congregation at City View Worship for graciously assisting with the Memorial Services & Celebration Reception; family and friends for their prayers, love, and support. Lastly, a special 'Thank You' to Pastor Ricardo Quintana for opening their doors for a Memorial Service at South Coast Fellowship.
Memorial services will be held at South Coast Fellowship, 4050 Market Street, Ventura on Saturday, October 19, 2019 with a Viewing from 10am-12pm and Services from 12-1pm with Pastor Fernie Franco of City View Worship officiating. A Celebration of Life reception will immediately follow at South Coast Fellowship from 1pm-5pm. Please wear the color purple or lavender in honor of Lydia.
