Ronald J. DeFilippo, a resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Sunday , October 6, 2019 at his home in Charlestown with his beloved wife by his bedside.
Ronald was born in Boston on January 7, 1934, a son of the late Matthew DeFilippo and Blanche (Peters) DeFilippo. He grew up in Charlestown, attended St. Benedict's Parochial School in Somerville, and graduated from Boston English High School. Ronald enlisted into the United States Air Force on June 6, 1951 and served his country with pride and honor during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on June 5, 1955 with the rank of Airman First Class. Ronald worked as a hairdresser for 62 years until his retirement. He will be remembered for his love of singing and dancing.
Ronald is the beloved husband of 32 years to Puangpetch "Petch" (Poomiratana) DeFilippo. He is the loving father of Maria, Ronald M., Carla, Eddy, and the late Dante. He is the grandfather of 2 grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of Arlene, Matthew, and the late Arthur "Bunny", and Jean. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Ronald's Funeral Service on Thursday October 10, 2019 at 12 Noon in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. His Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery in Malden. His visiting hours will be on Wednesday October 9, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
