CHICOPEE ~ Laurie A. (Szafranowicz) Parker, 58, of the Willimansett section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, October 4, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Holyoke on August 31, 1961, a beloved daughter of Anne J. (Baj) Szafranowicz of South Hadley and the late John A. Szafranowicz who was Called Home in 1977. She was raised and educated in South Hadley and had lived there most of her life before moving to Willimansett in 2012. She was employed as a Certified Nurse Assistant at Wingate at South Hadley. She was a communicant of the former Mater Dolorosa Church in Holyoke. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren, her family, her friends and her fur babies. In addition to her mother, she leaves her two loving daughters, Melissa M. Kuc and her husband, Richard, of Thorndike and Juliette I. Parker and her fiancé, Kenneth Cundiff, Jr. of Chicopee; her five cherished grandchildren, Faith A. Kuc, Derrick J. Cundiff, Sophie R. Cundiff, Kenzie E. Cundiff and Brittani M. Cundiff; her four dear brothers, John Szafranowicz and his wife, Joanne, Daniel Szafranowicz and his wife, Mary, and Jason Szafranowicz and his fiancée, Maggie Lupa, all of South Hadley and Joey Szafranowicz and his wife, Joan, of Holyoke; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. She will also be sadly missed by her feline companion, her cat Ace. At Laurie’s request, her funeral service and burial are private at the convenience of her family.
