Richard E. Neagus, Jr., 69 of Acushnet died October 3, 2019 while on vacation in Maine.
He was the husband of Marcelle T. (St. Jean) Neagus with whom he shared 49 years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Richard E. and Alice T. (Caton) Neagus, he lived in Acushnet all of his life.
He was formerly employed by St. John's Cemetery, Acushnet Cemetery, Acushnet Fire Department, Parting Ways Service Station and Bristol County Backhoe until his retirement.
Rick enjoyed NASCAR racing, Seekonk Speedway, camping and watching his grandchildren's sporting events.
Survivors include his wife; 2 daughters, Kerrie Neagus and Karen Leaver and her husband Scott, all of Acushnet; 2 grandchildren, Sydney and Kamden; 2 Godchildren, Wendy Miranda and Rochelle Coppa; and several aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 9th at 8:45 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. John Neumann Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, October 8th from 5-8 PM.
