Edward P. Mc Laughlihn of Stoneham died January 20, 2006 at Melrose Wakefield Hospital, Melrose.
Ed was the son of the late Dennis J. & Anne (McDonald) McLaughlin.
Ed was a Police officer for the Stoneham Police Department from 1953 to 1973. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during World War II.
He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth “Bette” (Shea) McLaughlin and devoted father of Charlene McDonough of Wakefield, Edward P. McLaughlin Jr. and his wife Debra of Mashpee, Kevin C. McLaughlin and his wife Kathleen of Stoneham, Betsy Parker and her husband Peter of Brewster and the late Kathlene E. Savage of Georgetown. He was the father-in-law of Thomas Savage of Georgetown. He was the cherished grandfather of Amy, Keri, Julie, Andrew, Kevin, Ryan and the late Sean and great grandfather of Emma and Ellie. He was the dear brother of Helen O’Donnell and Dennis McLaughlin both of Woburn. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Barile Family Funeral Home 482 Main St. (RT 28) STONEHAM Monday at 9am followed by a Funeral Mass celebrating Ed’s life in St. Patrick’s Church, 71 Central St. Stoneham at 10am. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend Visiting Hours Sunday 2-6 pm. Parking attendants will be on duty. Interment Lindenwood Cemtery, Stoneham.
