Matthew E. Conley, 84, Sarasota, Florida, died September 22, 2019 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital.
He was born November 4, 1934 in Anderson the son of Matthew and Rosemary (Wood) Conley. Matthew was a design engineer for auto manufacturing at General Motors for 30 years before retiring in 1991.
He served in the United States Army and was a member of Eagles, American Legion, Moose Lodge and Shrine Club.
Matthew is survived by his wife of nearly 65 years, Madelyn (Hattery) Conley whom he married November 21, 1954 in Anderson; son, Andy (Charla) Conley of Chesterfield and daughter, Candy Conley of Anderson and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Vickie O'Connor.
Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Bronnenberg Cemetery with Pastor Ned Clark officiating.
