Lonnie K Blanchard, 63, of Brockton died Saturday September 28th at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a long battle against cancer.
He was born on December 5, 1955 in Boston, son of Clifford O. and Claire A. (Johnson) Blanchard.
Lonnie was a truck driver for Bridgewater Farm Supply for over 21 years. He served his county proudly in the United State Air Force.
Lonnie was a quiet man whose words held wisdom and power. He always put his family first and was considered by many to be the ultimate provider. He and his wife often opened their doors to foster children and anyone that needed a place to stay.
Lonnie enjoyed jamming on his guitar along with his sons. Weekends were spent cheering on his favorite sports teams or saving the world in his favorite video games. He also enjoyed taking his grandkids to the park on the weekends, along with the dogs and teaching them to hunt down bullfrogs. Lonnie had a love and respect for all things Cadillac that he passed along to his sons and grandsons.
Lonnie was the beloved husband of Christine J. (Burnham) Blanchard of 42 years. He is also survived by his sons Joshua A., Jason C., Michael J., Derek O. and Richard A. Blanchard, his daughters-in-law, Heather Blanchard, Victoria Klima-Blanchard and Laurie McCrillis. Grandsons; Julian, Stephen, Michael, Adam, Nicholas, Derek ,Jr., granddaughters; Autumn and Brynn, sister Gayle Starr, nieces Melanie and Amy, grandnephews Cameron, Dylan and Benjamin, sister-in-law Jean Blanchard, nieces Heather and Sabrina, nephew Jonanthan and aunt Eunice Frink.
A celebration of Lonnie’s life will be held the first weekend of November at a place and time to be determined.
