Katherine Prentis, 59, of South Boston, passed away peacefully with her family at her side on Monday, September 30, 2019. Daughter of the late Katherine Canavan and beloved sister to Kerri McCarthy and her husband Keith and the late Joseph Shepherd. Loving mother to Eric Prentis and his wife Cristina, Martine Maldonado and her husband Juan, and Kayleigh Adams and her husband Sean. She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren, who were her favorite people: Emma and John Maldonado, Madeline Prentis, Hunter and Wyatt Adams. Also a blessed grandmother to the late Colton Adams. Dearest aunt to her favorite nephew and nieces: Hannah, Owen and Abigail McCarthy. Former daughter in law to the late Charles Prentis and his wife Jacqueline, whom she loved dearly, as well as the Prentis family. Survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Canavan Family. While she may not have been in this world long, she lived her years with style, class, a huge heart and a sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. The family would also like to thank Boston Medical Center MICU- B for the compassionate care they showed to Kathie during her stay.
The family is extending an invitation to anyone wishing to celebrate in Katherine’s life to join them Friday, October 4th, 2019 from 3pm to 6pm at Casper’s Funeral Home, located at 187 Dorchester Street, South Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent in Katherine’s name to Veterinary Pet Centers, Inc who took great care of her precious dogs Mia and Maddy at 391 Main Street Medford MA 02155.
