Obituary

Roland R. Carter, 94 of New Bedford died September 25, 2019.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Frisby A.L. and Harriet E. (Reynolds) Carter, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
He was formerly employed as a longshoreman for many years until his retirement.
Mr. Carter enjoyed playing tennis.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and participated in the Normandy Invasion, the Campaigns of Northern France and the Rhineland, and the Battle of the Bulge.
Survivors include his 3 sisters, Norma Carter and Harriet Ollivierre, both of California, Elizabeth Knowles of New Bedford; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Frisby Carter and Pauline Enos.
