AUBURN- Alec Eugene Blanchard, 26, of Auburn, passed away September 28, 2019, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
He was born May 4,1993 in Portland, the son of Kenneth and Kimberly (Gilliam) Blanchard.
He was Homeschooled and attended classes at Thornton Academy, and graduated High School in 2011. He was an avid hockey player with Biddeford Youth Hockey and Thornton Academy.
Alec was employed with Northeast Air, Portland, and previously with Clean Harbors, South Portland.
Alec was a devoted son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, friend and employee. He had a work ethic that far surpassed his age, and a love for life that had no boundaries. He was admired by both young and old. Alec made it a point to lend a hand to others in any situation. He was funny and witty and made it a pleasure for anyone to be in his company.
Alec was a true example of a leader in every way ever since he was a small boy. He had the easy ability to make friends no matter where he was or what he was doing. A happy child, turning into a generous young man.
Alec will be missed by his smile, his energy, his loyalty, and his hugs.
Alec was a member of Gun Owners of Maine, and was a Libertarian.
Alec is pre-deceased by his grandfather Donald Gillam, and his uncles Edward Blanchard and Donald Gilliam III.
Alec is survived by his parents Kenneth and Kimberly Blanchard of Arundel; his sister Nicole Blanchard and her fiance Mitchel Turner; and his niece/goddaughter Kairi Rose Turner.
He also leaves his maternal grandmother Maureen Gilliam of Arundel, and his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Diana Blanchard of Gorham; His Aunt Dawn Tilton of Hollis, Uncle Joseph Gilliam & Melissa Curan of Arundel, Uncle Kevin and Aunt Judy of Arundel, Aunt Melissa and Uncle Bill of Sanford, and his God-parents Caroline and Mark Emerson of Dayton. He is also survived by numerous cousins, great aunts and uncles, and friends.
Visiting hours will be at New Life Church of Biddeford on Saturday from 1-3pm, followed directly by a funeral service. A small committal service will be held at a later date.
