Norma Faye Sewell Hendley, 52, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, September 27, 2019, at Navicent Health in Macon.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, October 2, 2019, at Arbor Baptist Church in Fitzgerald, with the Rev. Dr. Lloyd Stembridge officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 on Wednesday morning in the sanctuary.
Mrs. Hendley was born September 23, 1967, in Fort Gordon, Augusta, Georgia, to Herman Sewell of Sylvester and the late Norma Faye Vaughn Sewell. She was a 1985 graduate of Worth County High School. She worked at the original Floyd’s Restaurant and in the cafeteria at Ben Hill Elementary School. For the past 12 years, she kept children in her home. “Ms. Norma” dearly loved all her babies and made a lasting impact on their lives. She was a Christian woman of strong faith who loved her family and her church. Her gift was taking care of others. She was a member of Arbor Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Scott Hendley of Fitzgerald; children: Brian Hendley and Kayla Hendley, both of Fitzgerald; her father, Herman Sewell of Sylvester; her brother, Henry Sewell of Sylvester; mother-in-law, Barbara Hendley of Fitzgerald; and sister-in-law, Pam & Mark Hunter of Fitzgerald.
