Neil went home to Heaven on September 26, 2019 surrounded by family at the U of M Hospital, Minneapolis.
Neil was born February 6, 1929 at home in Glenwood, MN as the youngest of 8 children. He was a veteran who played tuba in the 438th Army band in Camp Stoneman, CA, where he met his sweetheart, Nellie Ruth Pickens, in 1949. They married in Crockett, CA on November 24, 1951. Neil held various jobs, until he became the Chief Maintenance Engineer in two different hospitals, St. Luke’s/United Hospital in St. Paul, MN and St. Olaf Hospital in Austin, MN. After Neil retired, he enjoyed reupholstering furniture and beautiful wood crafting. He is a former member of Bethlehem Free Methodist Church in Austin, MN and a current member of Sunrise Bible Church in North Branch, MN.
Neil is preceded in death by his parents Francis “Frank” & Clara (Hogle) Jaeger; 4 sisters Gertrude Adams, Genevieve Wobbema, Alma Trowbridge and Annette Jaeger; 3 brothers, Harold, Laurence & Louis. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, N. Ruth; children Barbara (David) Churchill of Prescott Valley, AZ, Annette (Tim) Peterson of Maplewood, MN, David (Caryl Ann Chevre) of Fridley, MN, Daniel (Juana Maria) of Granbury/Odessa, TX; 16 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren & great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Reva Sandmeyer; many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends.
Funeral Service Thursday (10/3) 11:00 AM at NORTH HAVEN CHURCH, 2240 - 15th Ave. E, North St. Paul. Interment Union Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 PM at SANDBERG FUNERAL HOME, 2593 E. 7th Ave., North St. Paul, & one hour prior to Service at church.
Neil was a kind, gentle, loving and Godly man. He was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.
