Joseph F. Vayas, age 90, was called safely home on Sept. 25, 2019 from Vero Health & Rehab of Wilbraham. He was born on July 5, 1929 in Springfield, a son of the late Joseph and Marion (Uschmann) Vayas. Joseph worked as a Machinist for Wallace Manufacturing Company for many years before he retired. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Church. Joseph enjoyed collecting model airplanes and had a very large collection. He also enjoyed die cast cars and was a huge fan of Glenn Miller's music. He is survived by his loving wife Marcia (Chase) of Springfield. Calling hours will be held on the morning of the funeral, Tues. Oct. 1, 2019, 10:00 – 11:00 AM at the Grise` Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St., Chicopee followed by a funeral home Prayer Service at 11:00 AM. Burial will take place at Saint Michael's Cemetery.
