Obituary

George Horton Williamson, 90, of Rochelle, Georgia, died Thursday, September 26, 2019, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held, 11 AM, Monday, September 30, 2019, at Salem Cemetery, in Ben Hill, County, Georgia, with the Rev. Ralph Callaway officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 Sunday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mr. Williamson was born, December 2, 1928, in Ben Hill County, Georgia, to the late Allen & Nancy Taylor Williamson. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Williamson was a supply technician for Warner Robins Air Force Base. He was a member of the NRA and loved hunting and the outdoors. Mr. Williamson was an easy-going man and always had a smile. He was a member of Salem Baptist Church and served as an usher and secretary of his Sunday school class.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruth Williamson of Rochelle; a son Clifton Williamson of Rochelle; grandchildren: Wendy Young & Brandon, Shain Williamson Miller, Hailey Missouri Williamson, Laken & Rex Allen Cromer and Hunter Andrew Munden; great-grandchildren: Jake Young, Jarrett Young, Shawn Bentley Cromer, Anthony Cromer and Jace Cromer. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters: Cynthia Williamson and Connie Woodard and a great-grandchild, Thomas Tyler Gunter.
