Patrick N. Darrigo of Stoneham died on Sunday, September 22. Born and raised in Medford, he was the son of the late Joseph and Elvira (Melchionda) Darrigo. Patrick proudly served in the Army in the late 1950's. After he returned home he was employed as a supervisor at Polaroid. Patrick and his beloved wife of 62 years, Sheila (Kinsella) Darrigo, have lived in Stoneham for the past 11 years. Pat was also well known and respected as a local athlete, co-worker, coach, Boy Scout member and referee.
Patrick was the devoted father of Paula Carmichael and her husband Wayne, and Patricia Darrigo, all of Medford, Leanne Darrigo and her husband Frederick Plett of Somerville, Jo-Ann Darrigo of Winchester, Peter Darrigo and his wife Anatashia of Tewksbury, and Andrew Darrigo and his fiancée Jessica Tanner of Everett. He was the loving grandfather of Meaghan Landry of Springfield, Kevin Carmichael and his partner Chloe Meck, and Tayla Plett, all of Medford, Juliana Darrigo of Winchester, and Shane, Kyle and Justin Darrigo, all of Tewksbury. Patrick was the dear brother of Joseph Darrigo and his wife Audrey of Dracut, and the late Grace Darrigo. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, September 27 at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Patrick Church, 71 Central St., Stoneham, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday, September 26 from 4 through 8 PM. Interment will be private.
