Ana M. Colon went home to be with the Lord on Friday September 20, 2019. She was the beloved daughter of the late Pedro Rodriguez and Monserrate Jorge Rodriguez.
Ana was born in Aguadilla, Puerto Rico on February 12, 1941. She came to New Bedford in 1962 along with her family where she began working as a stitcher for Cliftex Corp. Ana was a devoted sister and family was of great importantce to her. She loved family time, crocheting, cooking, buying new clothes, but most of all her love for God.
She is survived by children Yolanda Colon of New Bedford, Angel Colon and his partner Maribel Martinez of Ft. Myers Florida. Her grandchildren Ashley B. Colon of New Bedford, Fred M. Gomes Jr. and his wife Rebecca Gomes of New Bedford, Kyler J. Colon of New Bedford, Shantel M. Colon of Mass. and Angel Colon Jr. of Florida. Great grandchildren Luvontae Rivera, Elijah Rivera, and Justin Morales. Great great grandchildren Bryleigh and Milani Rivera and her last gift her great granddaughter Emma B. Gomes. She also leaves behind her brothers Victor Rodriguez and his wife Cecelia of New Bedford, Luis Rodriguezand his wife Lydia of Florida, Raphael Rodriguez and his wife Sarah of Florida, Jesus Rodriguez and his wife Rosa of New Bedford ans Benny Rodriguez of New Bedford . Ana was also the sister of the late Hector Rodriguez. She had many nieces and nephews and truly loved everyone of them.
Ana’s funeral service will be private. We thank you all for being a part of Ana’s journey. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
