Obituary

Richard C. Kronk, age 79, of 9 Bay Street, Mystic, formerly of Pennsylvania Avenue, Oakdale, died Wednesday at Mariner Healthcare at Pendleton in Mystic where he had been a patient for the past 23 days.

Mr. Kronk was born in Freedom, PA on August 13, 1922 the son of Charles M. and Eva S. Kronk. He was a 1941 graduate of Freedom High School.

His first wife, Margaret Kronk, died in 1997. He was married to Doris (Maynard) Kronk at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Mystic in 1998.

Prior to his retirement in 1987, he was employed as a rigger at Electric Boat for 25 years.

A resident of Mystic since 1997, he was a communicant of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Richard C. Kronk Jr. and Cheryl Zeleznicky, both of Oakdale, two brothers, Donald and Charles Kronk, both of Pennsylvania, 4 grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

His family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, historic downtown Mystic on Sunday from 6-8pm. A Funeral Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Mystic on Monday at 11am. Private burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery, Norwich. Donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of Southeastern Connecticut, PO Box 902, Uncasville CT 06382.
