Obituary

SPRINGFIELD ~ Margaret M. Moran, 68, of the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Thursday, September 19, 2019. She passed into Eternal Life at her home in Springfield surrounded by all the memories she loved and cherished. She was born in Springfield on October 27, 1950, a beloved daughter of the late John F. and Isabelle M. (O’Neill) Moran. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from the High School of Commerce and was a lifelong resident of the city. She was a telephone operator for many years and was last employed as a payroll clerk for New England Telephone Company and retired on July 31, 1998. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield where she was a member of the Over 60 Club. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and many friends. She leaves her loving son, Brian J. Moran of Springfield; her dear sisters and brother, Anne M. Manning and her husband, Paud, of Springfield, Shaun W. Moran of Springfield and Helen M. Brissette and her husband, Bruce, of Ludlow; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the family. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her dear brother, Patrick F. Moran. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Springfield Chapels, (413-737-1177), 7 Chapin Terrace, Springfield, MA 01107, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104. Her burial will follow the Mass at Calvary Cemetery, 292 Hampden Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Sacred Heart Church Renovation Fund, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
