William Harris Duncan, 86, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi passed away Thursday, September 19, 2019 at his residence.
William was born on November 26, 1932 in Turner County to the late Lucius Hinton and Allene Jones Duncan. William served his country with honor and retired from the United States Navy after 20 years of service. During the Korean War and Vietnam War he served on the USS Enterprise. He was also a member of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his sons, Mike (Pam) Duncan of Purvis, Mississippi and Mark Duncan of Covington, Georgia; sisters, Margaret (Ralph) Moore of Tampa, Florida and Faye (Don) Dickson of Friendswood, Texas; grandchildren, Ashli Eskew, Jennifer Norris, Will Duncan, Stephanie Stevens, Sarah Duncan, Brett Duncan and Mary Rowan Duncan. He is also survived by 9 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Louise Langford Duncan a son, Steve Duncan and brother, Gerald Duncan.
Funeral services will be held Monday, September 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM graveside in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Rebecca, Georgia.
