Don Macomber, age 61 of Raynham, died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at his home. He was the devoted husband of Paula (Rodenbush) Macomber. Don was born and raised in Taunton, a son of Donald and Shirley (Smith) Macomber, and lived in Raynham for the past 25 years.
Don was employed at Landmark Window Fashions as the Senior Operations Manager. He was a 1976 graduate of Taunton High School, and spent his younger years playing sports and learning from his grandfather. Don was an avid Boston sports fan and a seafood enthusiast. He was a previous board member at the Raynham Youth Baseball and Softball Association (RYBSA) as well as a proud coach of his children and many other young people in his community. He was a positive role model and impacted many youth, both on and off the field.
Don was an incredibly loving and loyal family man. He enjoyed exploring new places with his wife and children and found comfort in life’s simple pleasures while sharing good times with close friends and family. Don was personable and had a great sense of humor. He always managed to create a meaningful conversation with a perfect stranger. Don was a man of integrity, and often encouraged his children, family, and friends to “come from an honest heart”.
In addition to his wife Paula, Don is survived by his children Lindsey Macomber Callahan and her wife Christine Callahan of Brooklyn, NY, Kelly Macomber of Raynham and Matthew Macomber of Raynham. He was the proud grandfather of his new grandson Charles Macrae Callahan. He is also survived by his brother-in-laws Daniel Rodenbush Jr. and wife Linda, and Richard Rodenbush, niece Haley Menard and her husband Chris Menard, nephews Daniel Rodenbush, III and Charles “Chip” Rodenbush, other extended family, and many close friends.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Monday 4-8pm. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday at 9am for a Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church W. Bridgewater at 10am.
