GORHAM/Charlotte,NC- Joseph S. Vacchiano, 54, of Gorham, ME passed away on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at Novant Health Hospice Center in Charlotte, N.C. after a long battle with cancer.
Joe was born on January 11, 1965 in Portland, Maine. He graduated from Gorham High School and moved to N.C. in 1991 to work as a Butcher for Food Lion for many years. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle and belonged to various clubs. He lived with his 2 cherished dogs.
Joe was predeceased by his beloved father, Joseph S. Vacchiano, Sr in 1982. He is survived by his mother, Teresa Hatcher and her husband Larry, of Ocala Florida, a sister, Angela LaPointe and her husband Jim, of Sebago, a son, Dylan Nickerson of Westbrook, a daughter Holly Stairs of Charlotte, NC, and a niece, Danielle LaPointe of Sebago.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday Sept. 28 from 10 am - 11:30 am at the Chad E. Poitras Cremation and Funeral Service Chapel, 498 Long Plains Road, Buxton. At 11:30 AM there will be a time of sharing at the funeral home.
