Mrs. Nazarene M. (Mondello) Stramondo, “Nan,” of Andover, formerly of Lexington and cherished wife of Attorney Salvatore F. Stramondo, “Sam”, passed away at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill on Wednesday morning, September 18, 2019. She was 96 years old.
Born in Brooklyn, New York, she was the beloved daughter of the late Philip and Mary (Lopresti) Mondello. Nazarene was a graduate of Medford High School and Lasell Junior College. She was an administrative assistant to Dr. Lowry and at the Deaconess Hospital for many years before starting a family. She enjoyed cooking, needlepoint and yoga. Nazarene reveled in lively political discussions and in sharing her knowledge of history. She was thoroughly well read and was an avid world traveler. Above all, Nazarene was a friend to all she knew and a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed.
In addition to her beloved husband of 60 years, Salvatore, Nazarene is survived by her loving daughter; Lesa S. and her husband Andrew P. Botti of Andover, grandchildren; Madeleine and Paul Botti and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Antoinette Bolger and Anthony Mondello.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, September 22, 2019, from 3 to 6 PM at Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 N, Main Street Andover. Interment will be privately held.
