Darrell Emil Holmes, age 58 of Prosser, entered into rest on September 14, 2019 at his home in Prosser. He was born on January 18, 1961 to Russell and Jeanette (Olson) Holmes in Prosser. He graduated from Prosser High School in 1979. Darrell worked for the Prosser School District and later as a cook and bartender at the Trails End Tavern. He loved cooking for his customers and family. He was currently employed at Valley Quality Homes in Sunnyside.
Darrell enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, cooking and traveling. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his life partner, Jill Evans and his family. Darrell was a wonderful brother who would help anyone. He had an amazing sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was a member of the Prosser Eagles.
Darrell is survived by his brothers, Gordon Holmes and Steve Holmes and wife, Michelle; sister, Natalie McCombs and husband, Randy; and his life partner, Jill Evans, all of Prosser. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, Miranda, Zachary (Aly), Logan, Caycee, and Wyatt; great nieces and nephew, Charlotte, Spencer and Ivy; and adopted sister, Judy Younger of Yakima. He was preceded in death by his parents.
