Suzanne L. Raymond, 55, of Salem, passed away, following a long illness, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House on Sunday, September 15, 2019 with her family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Donald J. and Nancy S. (Newell) Raymond.
Born and raised in Salem, Suzanne was essentially a stay at home mom devoting her life to the raising of her family. Later, as her children advanced in school, she worked for Bass River, Inc. as a personal assistant to individuals with disabilities. She left Bass River after eighteen years of service. More recently, Suzanne, while at home, cared for her dad in his final illness until his passing in June of this year.
Suzanne was a caretaker by nature and deeply religious. Her extended family came first. Their comfort and wellbeing was the center of her life. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her three children; Amy L. Diaz and her husband Kevin of Boston, her handsome son, John R. Keyees, Jr. and Talita Camargo of Beverly, Laura A. Carr of Salem, her former husband, Spero Kontarasis of Salem, her three brothers, Garry P. Raymond and Linda J. Raymond both of Salem, Mark D. Raymond and his wife Linda M. of Salem, Scott R. Raymond of Salem and her sister Pamela M. Scott and her husband Wayne of Worcester. She also leaves her grandchildren, Kylee Retos, Olivia Cone, Lily Abbott, Mackenzie Carr, Mason Carr, Kevin Diaz, Caleb Carr, Niko Keyes and her devoted four legged best friend Tatyana as well as several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Route 114 / 1-A] Salem on Saturday at 10:00 A.M. to be followed by her Mass of Christian Burial in Ste. Anne Church, 290 Jefferson Ave., Salem at 11:00 A.M. Visiting hours in the Funeral Home will be on Friday from 4:00 to 8:00 P.M. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
