George Earnest Burnett, 72, of Ocilla, Georgia, died Thursday, September 12, 2019, at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
Mr. Burnett was born May 20, 1947, in Brunswick, Georgia, to the late Bill & Laverne Bussell Burnett. He was a graduate of Crisp County High School. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy for 14 years. He was aboard the USS Forrestal when it exploded during the Vietnam War. He earned several Master’s degrees, including an architectural degree while stationed in England. He was an engineer and designed equipment for food processing.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Burnett of Ohio; a son, Jason & Nikkie Burnett of Camden, Delaware; grandchildren: Kennedy Mareno, Morgan Burnett, Cain Burnett, and Samantha Burnett; and a sister, Cindy Ellard of Nashville, Tennessee.
