Rita Willan, 78, of Londonderry, NH, formerly of Salem, NH passed away Wednesday September 11, 2019 at Whittier Rehabilitation Hospital in Haverhill, MA after a lengthy illness. Rita was born March 11, 1941 in Lawrence, MA and was a daughter of the late Anthony and Mary E. (Zenevitch) Turonis. She was raised and educated in Lawrence and lived most of her adult life in Salem. She had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 10 years.
Rita worked as a Senior Financial Analyst at Holy Family Hospital of Methuen, MA for 38 years and was also an emergency room volunteer there. She loved the outdoors and enjoyed walking the Derry rail trail.
Members of the family include her two sons, Gregg Willan and Steven Willan and his wife Nima, a daughter, Lisa Willan, two grandchildren Sarah and Ashley Willan, a sister, Eleanor Fyfe and her husband Arthur, her brother John Turonis and his wife Diane, as well as many friends and extended family.
After cremation, a celebration of her life will be held Tuesday September 17, 2019 at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium 15 Birch Street Derry, NH from 2 to 4 pm.
