WORCESTER – Reynaldo Santiago, 61, died on Friday, September 6, 2019 at home after being stricken ill.
He leaves his wife of 37 years, Maritza Antuna; 4 children, Marilyn Antuna of Fitchburg, Carmen Arnold and her husband Jason of Worcester, Juan Ortiz and his wife Charleen of Webster, and Maritza Rivera and her companion Victor Pomales of Worcester; 17 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren, Noel, Ashton and Naylanie; a sister, Ileana Santiago of Fitchburg; nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters and by his granddaughter, Kasandra Cruz in 2018.
He was born in Toabaja, Puerto Rico, a son of Vitctor Santiago Fuentes and Demetria Rosado Rodriguez. He lived there until moving to Worcester in 1974.
Mr. Santiago once worked in the maintenance department of a nursing home before retiring.
He took pride in his boxing skills and enjoyed training his grandchildren in that sport. He also liked weight lifting, cars and watching movies. He was a sports fan, especially watching the Boston Red Sox and basketball games.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 13, at 7:30 PM in the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School Street, Webster. Calling hours will take place from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
