Kenneth James Oliveira, also known as K.O. to many of his friends, passed away on Sunday September 8, 2019 at the age of 59 with his family always on his side.
Kenneth was the son of Helen (Folger) Oliveira and Charles Oliveira of Dartmouth. Also surviving is his daughter, Holli Oliveira and two brothers, David and Robert Oliveira, all of Dartmouth.
Kenneth was loved by so many friends and he returned that love to them. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. He had always been a very hard worker and never missed a day from work.
Kenneth worked his way up from being a deck hand on a scalloper to being Captain of the boat for many years. He also laid asphalt, cement, and underground pipes and could operate any and all heavy duty equipment which he enjoyed before cancer found him.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday September 12, 2019 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, with a Funeral Service at 5:30 PM during the visitation.
