Molly McKenzie, 55, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Sunday, September 8, 2019, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald.
Memorial services will be held 12 Noon, Sunday, September 15, 2019, at the Irwinville Community Center in Irwinville. Friends and family will share memories. Interment will be private.
Mrs. McKenzie was born April 23, 1964, in Bartow, Florida, to the late Curtis Mitchell and the late Mary Odom Byrd. She moved to the community in 2006 from Frostproof, Florida and was a homemaker. She enjoyed putting puzzles together, playing cards, and shopping.
She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Ricky McKenzie of Fitzgerald; her 6 sons: Freddie Lee Byrd & Fran Chauncey of Fitzgerald, Jimmy Ray Byrd of New Orleans, Louisiana, Bobby Eugene Byrd of Lakeland, Florida, Jesse Land of Lake Wales, Florida, Jamie Lee Byrd of Winter Haven, Florida, and Timothy Howard Land of Winter Haven, Florida; grandchildren: Jesse Land, Jr., Jessiah Land, Damian Land, Bobbi Catherine Byrd, Jamie Land, Christopher McDaniel, Destiny Chauncey, and Zyshawn Mickins; a brother, Bobby & Kelly Mitchell of Frostproof, Florida and Penny & Ken Augustine of Grand Rapids, Michigan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Byrd Dixon.
