Donald F. Boisvert, 87, of Salem, passed away on Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Pilgrim Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody following a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Mary (Bik) Boisvert and Wilfred Boisvert.
Don was born, raised and educated in Salem. He worked for many years for the Salem Housing Authority, from which he retired. Don was a well known and well liked bartender at Lonnie’s Place in Salem, where he always enjoyed a joke with his many friends.
Don loved being with his family. He enjoyed watching sports, especially the Boston Red Sox and the New England Patriots. He also enjoyed taking long walks on Nahant and Lynn beaches with his beloved golden retriever Brandy. Over the years he traveled to the Bahamas, to Canada and throughout the United States.
Don leaves behind the love of his life and partner, Gloria Kefalas and her children: Jamie Blanchette and her husband Ron of Beverly, Nicholas Kefalas of Beverly, Kevin Kefalas and his wife Paula of Salem, Jim Kefalas and his wife Linda of Lynn and his several adopted grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Robert Boisvert.
