HOLLIS- Michael “Mike” Lee Nugent, age 36, passed away at his home on Sept. 5, 2019 from complications with diabetes.
He was born in Westbrook on Oct. 8, 1982, son of Kerry Nugent and Laurie (Smith) Monteith.
After graduating from Bonny Eagle High School in 2001, Mike began his career as a heavy equipment mechanic for Blue Rock Industries (now Pike Industries), and most recently for the Dayton Snow Fighters.
Mike enjoyed working on trucks and tractors, helping out others, tending to his dogs, turkeys, chickens, and geese, and most importantly – being with his beloved family and kids.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years- Elizabeth “Beth” (Cole) Nugent; his children- Collin, Colby, and Shiloh; parents- Kerry Nugent and his wife Teri of Hollis, and Laurie Monteith of Hollis; maternal grandmother- Sylvia Smith of Hollis; paternal grandmother- Sandra Ellsmore of Hollis; siblings- Matt Nugent, Sara Logan, and Steven Bennett; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.
A memorial service to celebrate Mike’s life will be held on Saturday Sept. 14 at 11 AM at the Hollis Center Church, Rt. 202, in Hollis. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the service. Burial will be at a later date at Meeting House Hill Cemetery in Hollis.
