TEWKSBURY – Gino Joseph Tucceri, age 92, a WWII Veteran and retired Tewksbury businessman, died peacefully Thursday afternoon, September 5, surrounded by his beloved family, in the care of Beacon Hospice and the dedicated staff of Wingate at Belvidere. He was the husband for sixty-eight years of Maryann H. (Liuzza) Tucceri, who died on December 1, 2015.
He was born in Boston, one of four children of the late Charlie and Nellia (Salvani) Tucceri, and raised in East Boston. After his marriage, he lived in Medford, before coming to Tewksbury in 1955.
During WWII, he served in the U.S. Navy, honorably discharged as a Seaman First Class having served on the USS Merear, and was awarded the Victory, and American Area Victory Medals.
His career began in the shoe factories of East Boston, but he later became a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance in the Billerica and Pinehurst areas. He went on to found and successfully operate Tucceri Insurance Agency in Tewksbury.
He leaves a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Richard “Dick” Cuoco of Tewksbury; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert G. and Lillian (Lauzon) Tucceri, and Paul N. and Susan (McVey) Tucceri all of Tewksbury; seven grandchildren, Julann Briggs , Kristi Rodgers, Robert Tucceri, Kenneth Tucceri all of Tewksbury, Laura Ketzbeau of CA, Jeffrey Tucceri, and Jennifer Magary both of Tewksbury; thirteen great grandchildren, Bobby, Ryan, Rylie, Brady, Brennan, Ava, Ella, Jeffrey, Jude, Jack, Henry, Vincent, and Francesca; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his siblings, Anthony Tucceri, Eva Lamkin, and Robert Tucceri
Visiting hours Sunday, Sept. 8 from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His funeral will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. in St. William’s Church, 1351 Main St. (Rte. 38) Tewksbury. Followed by Navy Honors.
