Dorene M. (Mooney) Durette, a 15 year resident of Everett and formerly of Charlestown, Andover, New Hampshire and Chelsea, passed away tragically due to injuries sustained from a fire at her home in Everett on Monday morning, September 2, 2019. She was 63 years of age.
Dorene was born in Chelsea on August 17, 1956, a daughter of the late Ethel M. (Kelly) Ruth and John Mooney. She grew up in Chelsea where she was educated in the Chelsea Public School system and graduated from Chelsea High School in 1974. Dorene worked as a Nurse for the Kennedy Center in Charlestown for many years where she dedicated herself to the caring of home bound patients and out patients throughout the area. She enjoyed reading, doing puzzles, playing cribbage and cards and traveling to her condo in Steele Hill in New Hampshire. She also enjoyed her many cats throughout her life. Dorene enjoyed family and friends and along with her partner, they enjoyed their neighbors and were always willing to help out someone else before themselves.
Dorene is the beloved partner of 23 years to the late Audrey M. "Audi" LeBlanc. She is the devoted mother of Shane Garrett and his wife Christina. She is the loving Grammy to Devon, Reese and Mason. She is the beloved sister of Deidre Festa, Donna Ianno, David Mooney and the late Desiree Mooney. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dorene's visiting hours on Thursday, September 12, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. in The Carr Funeral Home, 220 Bunker Hill St. Charlestown. Dorene's Funeral Service and burial will be private.
