Barbara R. Berry, age 60, of Brockton, formerly of Fall River, died peacefully August 30, 2019 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born in Crawfordsville, AR, she was the daughter of the late Vaughn and Ella (Moore) Berry. She was raised in Roxbury and educated in Boston Public schools. Barbara had been a resident of Fall River for over 15 years before moving to Brockton. She graduated from Bristol Community College in 2018 with a degree in Liberal Arts and had been a longtime employee at the college in the Disability Department. The college became a big part of her life. She loved working on campus, attending classes to further her education and attending the many activities on campus. Barbara was a strong and resilient woman with a big and generous heart. She was proud of her daughters and their achievements and her grandchildren.
Barbara was also strong in her faith, and had been a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Fall River in Fall River. She enjoyed spending time at the ocean, loved listening to Motown music and attending horror movies with her daughters. Barbara’s favorite saying was “Angels All Around You” before she ended her telephone conversations with loved ones.
Barbara was the loving mother of Bena A. Berry of Brockton, Breanna M. Berry of Roxbury and the late Gregory Berry. She was the grandmother of Dreanna U. Hubbard and Blyss-Marie Gwen Jackson and sister of Dolores Hudgins, Levaugn Yearwood, Willie McKinney, Sharon Berry, Roy Berry and the late Gwendolyn Grandison, Jessie McKinney and Marea Woods.
Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday September 7, 2019, 9am-9:45am, followed by a funeral service at 9:45am. Burial will be held in Evergreen Cemetery, Stoughton.
